Community guidelines
Onda works because people look out for each other and tell it like it is. These guidelines are short. They are part of the Terms of use.
1. Be good to people
Argue with ideas, not with people. No insults, threats, harassment or hate based on origin, religion, gender, orientation, disability or anything else. (Terms 5.2 and 5.3)
2. Report the vibe, not the people
When you report the vibe, describe the place: how busy it is, the queue, the music, the mood, the entry. Don’t name anyone, not the bouncer, not the bartender, not your ex. (Terms 4.1 and 4.3)
3. The place, yes. Accusations, no
“The queue is moving fast” is fine. “They sell drugs here” is not. If you see something serious, use Report: it goes to our team, not to the public. (Terms 4.2)
4. Only from there, only what’s happening now
Report when you’re at the place and say what’s going on right now. No made-up reports, no coordinated reports, no reports against the competition. (Terms 4.1 and 4.4)
5. Real events, well described
Post events that exist, with the right time, place and price. One per event, no duplicates. If something changes, update it. (Terms 5.4 to 5.6)
6. Respect privacy
Ask before posting photos in which someone can be recognised. Don’t share other people’s phone numbers, addresses or chat screenshots. (Terms 5.7)
7. No spam
No unrequested advertising, chain messages or misleading links. (Terms 5.1)
8. One person, one account, 18 and over
Use your own account and don’t pretend to be another person or venue. Onda is for people aged 18 and over. (Terms 2.1 and 2.2)
9. Fair specials
Redeem specials for yourself, and only once if the special says so. Venues only post specials they really honour. (Terms 7.1)
10. Look after yourself
When meeting new people, choose public places, tell someone you trust where you’re going and drink sensibly. In an emergency, call 112.
